Country duo Bomshell’s debut album, Fight Like A Girl, is now available in stores. Their single of the same name resonated with cowgirls across the country.
You may recognize the female duo from their work with Cowgirl Tuff Company, as the ladies have appeared in Cowgirl Tuff ads and rock the company’s gear on stage.
Kristy and Kelley of Bomshell co-wrote many of the songs featured on the album. The song Fight Like A Girl was inspired by a friend of Kristy’s who lost her fight with cancer after a long eight-year battle. According to the Bombshell website, Kristy’s friend Jenny was pregnant with her daughter when she was diagnosed with cancer. Although there was initial concern that she would be unable to have the baby due to chemo, Jenny battled forward until eventually losing her fight with cancer shortly after her daughter’s eighth birthday.
Personal experiences like this have inspired many of the songs on the duo’s debut album. To listen to fight like a girl and a couple other tracks from the new album, visit Bomshell’s music page here.
