Cowgirl Living Moves to Online-Only

Dear Cowgirl Living Readers,

Cowgirl Living, Lifestyle Magazine for the Western Woman, will be moving to an online magazine format effective Monday, October 19, 2009.

When the magazine launched in March 2008, the response from readers and the Western industry was overwhelming. Cowgirl Living’s goal has always been to connect cowgirls from around the world and help them with the day-to-day challenges of balancing work, home, and horses. I have received countless letters and emails from readers who say CLM has made them feel like they are not alone in facing this daily struggle - and that was exactly the mission we set out to accomplish. Those kinds of responses have made the long hours, sleepless nights, and other challenges of growing a new business during an economic downturn well worth the fight.

Cowgirl Living isn’t the product of a wealthy corporation looking to tap into a sizable niche market. CL has always been a nose-to-the-grindstone, bootstrapped small business with a mission to help other Western women. We have no intentions of abandoning that mission; however, due to rising production costs, changes in the magazine industry, and the current economic climate, it is no longer feasible for us to continue to publish a print magazine.

Although we are deeply saddened and disappointed by the loss of our print edition, we intend to continue to provide our valued readers with the same great information they have received in the magazine via our website at http://www.cowgirl-living.com.

The new online magazine format will allow us to deliver timely, relevant content to our readers on a regular basis. Visitors to the site will also be able to comment on articles, interact with other cowgirls via the CL community, and submit recipes and Kid Corral photos online. Oh - and best of all - access to the site is completely FREE!

In order to fulfill our obligation to subscribers, I.M. Cowgirl Magazine has graciously agreed to “adopt” our subscribers for the balance of their issues. If you have three issues left on your Cowgirl Living subscription, you will receive three issues of I.M. Cowgirl at no additional cost. I.M. is very much like Cowgirl Living in that it’s a magazine all about Western women and everything the cowgirl life entails. Thanks to the crew at I.M. for taking care of our girls!

On a personal note, I would like to thank each and every one of you for supporting Cowgirl Living during our first 7 issues. Your kind words and encouragement mean more than you will ever know. The road has been a little bumpier than planned but I am excited about this new direction. I hope you will continue to follow us online by visiting the site, joining our community, or signing up for our new monthly e-news. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding the change, please feel free to contact me through the website or via email at angie@cowgirl-living.com.

On behalf of the entire CL staff, thank you for making this venture possible. It has been a pleasure to work for such an amazing class of women. Stay in touch and we’ll see you down the road.

Sincerely,

Angie Gentry
