George & Reba Sell Out Show in One Hour

George Strait and Reba McIntyre, along with special guest Lee Ann Womack, sold out the upcoming Artist of the Decade show in under an hour on Saturday. The Bank of Oklahoma Center has never before sold over 18,000 tickets for a single event.

Barrel Racer Whitney Baker Totals Rig

WPRA barrel racer Whitney Baker lost control of her truck and trailer after leaving the National Western Stock Show & Rodeo in Denver, Colo. on January 24th. Reportedly, Baker’s truck and trailer hydroplaned on wet pavement, causing her to lose control. Baker walked away from the accident unscathed but her rig was totaled. Of the three horses on her trailer, two suffered scratches and bruising while the third is in serious condition. Please keep Wendy and her horses in your thoughts and prayers.

Bull Rider Cody Stephens Passes

Twenty-three-year-old Cody Stephens, a bull rider from Cherryville, Kan., passed away Saturday evening.

Stephens had been battling acute myeloid leukemia. Members of the rodeo community rallied around the young bull rider, organizing benefits and sending up prayers.

Before Stephens passed, he finally had the opportunity to meet World Champion Barrel Racer, Lindsay Sears. Sears recently learned of Stephens’ crush on her and flew in on Wednesday to be by his side. She stayed until Friday afternoon.

The Facebook group “Pray for Cody Stephens” has photos of the visit from Sears.

Funeral arrangements in Monett, MO are pending, according to a RodeoAttitude.com article.
